We launch Diversity Week 2015 campaign on November 30 – December 4 to celebrate diversity and inclusion throughout our work. There are two key events that our campaign is devoted to – World AIDS Day on December 1 and International Disability day on December 3.
On the occasion of these two dates we have interviewed people who work in different organisations in our country. One of these people is Gulsara Radjapova, Director of “Sanvikt” art centre for disabled children.
"I opened this center in order to help children with physical individuality, and prove them that they are no worse than other children, that they can achieve great success in life. In our center it can be seen that we are doing everything with love.
Every child is potentially talented and it is all about getting tender sprouts of these talents into the fertile ground. Nowadays our children are doing their own exhibitions, as you see, they are- my pride. This exhibition is from our first sparrows, who are role model for our young generations. I believe that it is important to help these children to inspire others to follow this path and demonstrate the triumph of kindness. As they say a good thing should be done by everyone and every day. I think that it is important for all of us. If there are a lot of such kinds of people, the world would be beautiful, bright and filled with love."
Note: Scientific- Research center of art for children with disabilities “SANVIKT” helps disabled people to develop their creative skills and thus to adapt to daily life in a society. In the Centre we teach sculpture, small plastic, painting, lacquer miniature, golden embroidery and carpet weaving. Here you can see amazing beauty of the collection of dolls and no less interesting the examples of traditional arts and crafts. Looking at them, it is hard to believe that all of them were created by children who can hardly operate their fingers or visually impaired.
The Art Center was established in order to identify and develop artistic talents of children with disabilities.
Close attention is paid to orphaned children with disabilities in the enrolment, but the doors of the center are open to all children.
