The British Council, in collaboration with the A.S.Hornby Educational Trust, invites applications for the Hornby Scholarships at Warwick University in the UK for 2015-2016. The programme supports one-year full-time study in the UK, taking a Masters course in English Language Teaching, with a choice of specialisms. The scholarship funds the costs of study in the UK, including return flights to the UK and visa. The current award is for study in the academic year starting at the end of September 2015, and continuing till the end of September 2016.

Candidates should be English language teaching professionals – teachers, trainers, lecturers, leaders - who have the potential to make a real difference to English language teaching in their countries. Successful candidates also demonstrate that they have the academic ability to cope with the demands of a UK Masters course, including having the necessary skills in academic English.

Those wishing to apply for the scholarship should complete the application form and return it to emine.sheykhametova@britishcouncil.org

Application forms will be evaluated by a local panel of British Council staff. Shortlisted candidates will then be invited to interview.

The A.S.Hornby Educational Trust is a charity registered in the UK. It was founded in 1961 by A.S.Hornby with funds earned from the publication of the Oxford Advanced Learners’ Dictionary, which he created. The Trust’s aim is to support the teaching of English as a foreign language worldwide. Further information about the work of the Trust can be found here: www.hornby-trust.org.uk

The deadline for applications is April 13 2015!
