Our Creative Spark: In Conversation with Entrepreneurs online session will introduce the participants to two successful entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan, who will:

  • share their experience in entrepreneurship
  • share their views on how to create business which will be sustainable and stand out
  • share their thoughts on how to measure success in business and how to know that you are successful
  • share their opinion on what leadership is: what it means to lead in challenging circumstances, what major leadership qualities are and what the role of corporate culture is
  • give young entrepreneurs their advice on how to start business
  • speculate about trends in business development in Uzbekistan and in wider region in the next five years

This is the first webinar of the Creative Spark sessions which will bring together the higher education students and established entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan for live online discussions.

About the speakers:

Dinara Dultaeva

Dinara is one of Uzbekistan’s leading communications professionals. She is the founder of Dinara&Co, an agency and publishing house that has helped many of Uzbekistan’s leading companies achieve their communications goals. 

Since 2018, she has been chairperson of the National PR Centre, a government body established by the State Committee of Tourism Development to promote the global image of Uzbekistan. She is a founder and Editor-in-Chief of Visit Uzbekistan magazine, first travel magazine to promote the country’s investment and touristic potential. Among her internationally successful projects is 10 Reasons to Visit Uzbekistan, which was launched in London and earned a letter of appreciate from HM Queen Elizabeth II.

Dinara is also an advisor to the Chairman of the National TV and Radio Company, supporting the development of new media projects and closer G2B cooperation.

Previously, Dinara began her career as an intern at the Presidential Press Office, where she was part of the team that produced the government publication, “Uzbekistan Looking to the Future.” Subsequently, she worked as part of the media relations office of the Cabinet of Ministers, Central Election Committee. Between 2008 and 2013, she was a spokesperson of the country’s largest arts and cultural foundation to support culture and arts of Uzbekistan. 

Dinara is trained a journalist. After graduating from Cardiff University with Chevening Scholarship, she worked as an editor of Business Section at Economic Review magazine, before founding Dinara&Co in 2015. 

Ulugbek Hojiahmedov

Ulugbek is a founder and director of management consulting company Compass Consulting LLC since 2007. After graduating from the MBA programme in the USA and obtaining experience in entrepreneurship and investments, Ulugbek decided to start a consulting business with the goal to assist Uzbek companies to become successful and grow. 

Currently, Compass Consulting LLC is a leading local management consulting company in Uzbekistan that consists of a team of world class management and consulting professionals passionate about their common mission. 

Ulugbek and the team are passionate about making the businesses of the Clients the world class by developing effective strategies and building systems. It's their dream to make Uzbek brands and companies become globally known and respected.

Jamilya Gulyamova, Moderator

Jamilya is a Deputy Director in British Council Uzbekistan and joined the organisation in 2001. She holds a PhD degree in linguistics and language teaching, and was previously Head of the English Department at the Foreign Languages Institute and senior lecturer at the Banking and Finance Academy of Uzbekistan.

In 1996 she established and was the founder of the President of Uzbekistan Teachers’ of English Association. Jamilya has extensive experience of leading on and managing complex large-scale regional, national and international projects.
