The implementation of the Presidential Decree of 10 December 2012 on ‘Measures to Further Improve the Foreign Language System’ will bring about major changes to the methodological approach used across the Uzbek education system to teach foreign languages.

To support the implementation of the Decree, the Centre for Innovation in Foreign Language Teaching is being established under the University of World Languages. Working in partnership with the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialised Education (MHSSE) and the University of World Languages, we are develop the concept for the Centre and its key areas of activity:

  • Development, review and monitoring of national standards.
  • Curriculum and syllabus design including materials production.
  • Research and development in key areas of foreign language teaching.
  • Trainer and teacher development.
